Summary

The performance and complexity of the technical products around us are constantly growing. The integration of new technologies into these new products requires new approaches in design, manufacturing and marketing. All of these engineering activities are entrusted to researchers, engineers and technicians who imagine, design and build modern systems to meet the needs of evolution. This teaching introduces the basic techniques to address the complexity of understanding, modeling and exploitation of the systems around us by proposing a "system approach" which will be a common base for developing knowledge and skills during 5 years of training at IG2I.

Educational goals

At the end of the course, the student will be able to: - Understand system and model concepts - Identify and model a continuous process - Understand the concept of specifications and its elaboration Contribution of the course to the competency framework; At the end of the course, the student will have progressed in: - To understand a technical problem - Analyze and put in place a scientific approach of problem solving - Specify a system - Perform technical integrations Knowledge worked: - Reminder of notions studied in Terminale class - Analysis of different systems representation techniques (mechatronic orientation) - Introduction to modeling, notion of models, analysis of model properties - Introduction to the concept of systemic, systemic approach, applied to different domains (mechatronics, business modeling ...) Skills developed: - To understand a technical problem - Analyze and put in place a scientific approach of problem solving
