Summary
The economic environment in which companies operate today is marked by increased competition. This context confronts managers with management situations that are described as extreme because they are evolving, uncertain and risky. The purpose of this course is to prepare future managers, who are our students today, to face extreme situations by giving them the keys to: - Discernible in complexity; - Decide with uncertainty; - Act in adversity. To be as close as possible to reality, this teaching consists of small theoretical-practical modules and extreme situation management in the field. The scenario of managing an extreme situation is studied to enable students to manage a large-scale industrial, environmental and societal crisis.
Educational goals
At the end of the course, the student will be able to: - Organize and manage communication flows in extreme situations within an organization composed of several teams - Optimize face-to-face communication within an organization facing a crisis situation - Managing and leading in adversity - Articulate your organization to face an extreme situation - Plan operations to manage an extreme situation - Conduct operations in extreme situations - Adapt your organization to the multiple evolutions of an extreme situation - Reassure, calm and energize the organization's members in the face of an extreme situation

Continuous Assessment
Comments: Acquisition of information on "leadership in extreme situations" (presentation amphitheatre 2 h): to validate, it is enough to be present.
Explicit knowledge acquisition (reverse class + student - teacher discussion forum 6h): evaluation through a static Quiz.
Acquisition of tacit knowledge + skills (simulation + debriefing 18 h): collective evaluation by means of a score assigned to the team when managing the "extreme situation" + individual score.
Consolidation of knowledge and skills (conferences with specialists + 8-hour course): evaluation through a dynamic Quiz.

Pedagogy
A pedagogy based essentially on simulation, which will allow students to manage an extreme situation in the field and to really control it. For the theoretical-practical modules, we will use case studies, video training and small simulations.
