Summary

There are three main objectives: to innovate, to carry out a complex project and to undertake. "Complex project" is to be understood in the sense of a project that requires the integration of different technological components (e.g. mechanics, electronics, IT, ...). In the spirit of a hackathon or a startup weekend , the challenge will start with an "Imagine" phase to find original and disruptive ideas, and a "Make" phase at the FabLab to create a prototype.

Educational goals

At the end of the course, the student will be able to : - Innovate o Implement creative techniques to produce innovative ideas o Selecting ideas - Carrying out a complex project o Design a prototype ᅵ Analyze the feasibility of the idea ᅵ Decide on the features of the prototype ᅵ Assess training and equipment needs o Rapidly build a prototype in a team ᅵ Acquire the necessary knowledge and know-how (online resources and coaching) ᅵ Discover rapid prototyping tools (FabLab) ᅵ Sharing roles ᅵ Integrate the different components of the project - Undertake o Make a video presenting the prototype in a context of use. o Evaluating a budget to achieve a proof of concept o Make a pitch to convince investors o Produce a video and a pitch in English Contribution of the course to the skills repository; at the end of the course, the student will have progressed in : - Ability to invent creative, ingenious, original solutions - Ability to mobilize a scientific/technical culture (transdisciplinarity and/or specialization) - Ability to identify and plan the necessary resources - Ability to concretize or make a prototype - Ability to add value Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Imagine Phase (Monday) The "Imagine" day aims to produce innovative ideas and to build teams: - Divergence phase - the morning is devoted to generating ideas, on the model of the "World Cafᅵ"(1). About a hundred ideas are produced at the end of this process. - Convergence phase - ideas are then entered into the online tool StormZ (2), and participants evaluate and comment on the ideas online, resulting in the selection of about a dozen ideas. - Team building - teams are formed around the selected ideas. The same idea can be chosen by several teams Pre-Make Phase (Tuesday morning) The aim of the "Pre-make" phase is to efficiently prepare the realization of the prototype and the final pitch. - Prototype design: choice of the functionalities to be realized, limits - Identification of needs : o hardware needs: manufacturing, electronics, servers, ... o coaching needs - Pitch and video design: storytelling, ... - Workshops to learn the FabLab tools : 3D design and printing, laser cutting, CNC machine, electronics and arduinos, embroidery, web, ... - Presentation of preliminary pitches (project evolution, design, needs) Workshops require same-day online registration. They have been duplicated between two and four times during the day (one-hour introductory workshops). The workshops were complemented by online educational resources. Phase Make (Tuesday afternoon - Friday morning) The "Make" phase is dedicated to the realization of the prototype and the pitch: - Coaching (by appointment) - Realization of prototypes (with the support of the technical team) - Preparation and presentation of a "Pitch Kickstarter" (5 minutes) : o Production and editing of a video presenting the prototype in its context, in order to explain its use (storytelling) o Estimate of a financial amount needed to launch the project, and a brief explanation of it o Fast pitch, which is intended to raise funds (not to present the project) (1) http://www.recit.net/IMG/pdf/m049_le_world_cafe_le_guide_complet_.pdf (2) https://stormz.me/ *** Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) ***
